The silence has been BROKEN!!!!!!!!

Well, I think we’ve waited long enough to blog…and our friend, LeAnna, said she knew something was REALLY wrong because I've been silent so long!!! :) Well, incase you haven’t heard, Ray and I decided to join a Pentecostal church a few months ago. We’ve been going every Sunday and Ray has even gotten so moved he has “seizured” on the floor a few times.

YEAH RIGHT!!!!

The big news is that I have something “swimming around in my stomach” as my grandfather says!

To throw out some facts, we are currently 10 weeks along and due around February 14th. Many have asked me how I’m feeling and I want to say again how much that means. On a good day, the answer was, “GOOD!” Those of you that asked me on a not so good day, well, you got a “Well, good for the most part. I’ve been quite nauseous. I haven’t thrown up, but I’ve sure considered sticking my finger down my throat a few times. Oh yeah, and I pee 3-4 times a night. Other than those things, pretty good”. In all seriousness, I am doing good. Like all pregnant women, I have my good days and my not so good days. When I’m having a not so good day, I have Ray here who has been wonderful about caring for me, cleaning, caring for the animals, cooking, etc.

I want to thank those of you that have called and sent emails and e-cards. They mean more than you’ll ever know to both Ray and I. Keep them coming! We’ll be expecting for another 30 weeks ya know!

On that note, I thought I’d share some of the responses to our announcement from our friends and family. So no one gets embarrassed or anything of the sort, I will not quote anyone by name.

Conversation 1

Tish: Hello?

Caller: What the…?!

Tish: Who is this and what do you want? (joking)

Caller: You know who this is and what I want…I CHECKED THE MAIL!

Conversation 2

Tish: Hello?

Caller: I’M SO EXCITED! OH MY GOD!

Tish: Oh, you got it! That’s great!

Caller: When I got the envelope, I thought, “Why is she sending me pictures?!” Then I opened it and started reading and thought, “Why are they telling me all this? I already know this!” Then I got to the card with the bun on it and I thought, “Why the **** is she sending me a bread recipe?!” Then, I realized…OH MY GOD! I’M SO HAPPY! CONGRATULATIONS TO YA’LL!!!! When are ya’ll due?!

Tish: Around February 14th

Caller: That means it’ll be a Capricorn….and you are a Scorpio. When is Ray’s birthday?

Tish: September 17th.

Caller: He is a Virgo. Oh my gosh…a Scorpio and a Virgo! Your baby is going to be so hard headed!

Tish: Well, the baby is half of me! And you don’t know Ray as well as you know me, but Ray is that way too! So, half me and half him does equal hard-headed!

Caller: Yeah, but Capricorn equals hard headed! The only thing worse would be if ya’ll had a baby in late May!

(Later on in) Conversation 3

Tish: Had ya’ll given up on us?!

Grandmother: Well, every now and then, I’d tell Paw-Paw that I wondered if ya’ll would have one. Yeah, we had pretty much given up hope.

Conversation 4

Tish: Hello?

Grandparent: Are you ready?!

Tish: For what? (playing dumb)

Grandparent: For motherhood!

Tish: Well, I have about 7 more months to get more and more used to the idea! Nah, I’m kidding! We’re really excited and ready!

Grandparent: You ready to change lots of diapers?!

Tish: Yep, sure am! I wasn’t several years ago, but I am now. I’m no longer a spring chicken! I’m almost 30, ya know?! I am ready!

Grandparent: Yeah, you’re right…you ain’t no spring chicken! (with a laugh)

Tish: Gee thanks!

Grandparent: (Laugh). You know that when you go somewhere, you’ll have to pack bags right?!

Tish: A bag? Yes.

Grandparent: You’ll have to pack diapers, changes of clothes, wipes,…

Tish: Yep, I know.

Grandparent: Oh, along with the diapers, bottles, and stuff, you need to pack lots of wash cloths and towels when you go to the grocery store…

Tish: Why?

Grandparent: Because as soon as you get in that grocery store, they’re going to puke all over you!

Tish: (Laugh). You’re funny!

Grandparent: (Laugh). I’m serious!

Congrats again Tish! I'm glad the silence is broken! Oh... and the "grandparent" is right... expect to get puke and lots of other stuff on you at very inconvenient times. But you won't mind so much... it is amazing how things like that don't bother you when it is YOUR child doing it! You and Ray are going to be great parents! :)

Finally! The silence is broken! Iwas very fortunate to be told in person BUT I was sworn to silence! What torture! I've been about to burst! However, I kept my word. They were able to make their very special announcement in their own special way to all their friends & family. Isn't the announcement great? Yes, I am very proud! Congratulations Mommie & Daddy! I going to be a grandmother! I can't wait! :)
