Our arguing style

First of all, let me say that neither Ray nor I are morning people. And for those of you who know me and might argue, “Tish, you used to be!” Yes, you are right…until I got pregnant, that is! ;) I usually dread getting out of bed, and the snooze button no longer does it for me! I actually reset the alarm for the latest possible time! However, I am not a total grump in the mornings…like my husband. :) He has to pretty much come out of his zone by himself. The only thing that can help him is coffee! Even though today is Friday, Ray still had his morning ‘tude!

He was sitting in front of the computer (in his zone). I was ironing my clothes for work. We had been awake about 30-45 minutes. I thought of something to tell him. So, very nicely, I said, “Hey, baby…” He said, “WHAT, BABY?!” It was so sudden, so fast, and frankly, quite offensive that early in the morning. I said, “Never mind!” He asked me over and over again to tell him what I was going to tell him. After a few minutes, he even apologized. I wasn’t going to tell him anything unpleasant like something he needed to do or anything like that. It was actually something fun. I don’t even remember what it was now, but I want to say it was an idea of something for us to do over the weekend. Honestly, I lost the spirit of saying something fun after he reacted to me that way. So, I refused to tell him.

He walked to where I was, with our office trash can in his hands. He asked me again to tell him what I was going to say. I said, “Ray, I’ll tell you later. It was just something fun…and I was talking to you very nicely. And you attacked me. I’ll tell you later on, okay?” He had the blankest look on his face and turned the trash can upside down.

Since the trash can was so full (mostly of paper, thank god!), it seemed to pour out for five minutes straight…it just kept coming and coming and coming! I watched his feet cover with trash that extended about 3 feet in front of him! Of course, I was shocked! It was so funny! I started laughing and said, “Baby, what are you doing?!” He smiled the cutest smile and said, “Getting your attention!” Still laughing, I said, “You’re crazy!” As I bent down to help him clean it up, I told him what I was going to tell him before. When he realized he was bending down to help him, he said, “What are you doing?!” I said, “Helping you pick all this up.” He said, “No you’re not! You’re pregnant! Besides, I am the one that dumped it. I’m going to pick it up. I just wanted to get your attention, and it worked”. As I got up, I said, “You are something else!” He smiled and said, “Man, that was freeing!” I laughed even harder and said, “I bet it was!” He said, “It was! Ya know how people get so mad they want to punch a wall? Well, dumping a trash can was so much cooler!” We both laughed our bad morning attitudes away and let the spirit of Friday take over. :)

Y'all are so comical! :) I can just see it! Ray, you had a great idea! Dumping the trash can is MUCH better than punching the wall! Too funny! It gave me a good laugh and break from a very hectic morning! Thank u :)
