Everyone knows this precious boy! This is our Hobbes! For some reason, I decided to attach two funny pictures of him first. Notice how his tongue is stuck out just like his football man’s is in the second picture! :)
Okay, let me attach a more huggable lovable picture of our baby. Here is our little handsome fella!

How can you not love this guy to pieces?!
You might be wondering why I’m blogging about Hobbes when we have 4 other dogs, plus a cat that I could be blogging about. Well…let’s just say that Hobbes deserves special recognition.
Backing up: When Ray and I first adopted Hobbes about two or two and a half years ago, he was a bad boy! He was food aggressive (has gotten MUCH MUCH better) and he was just a nipper! He would bite my ankles when I walked around the house. I specifically one time when our friends, Harlan and Rita, were at our house visiting not long after we got Hobbes. Rita and I were sitting on the floor talking when Hobbes went running behind me real fast, jumped up, and pulled the scrunchie out of my hair! No, I’m NOT kidding! He was such a little hellion! Ray got really frustrated with him because he got tired of seeing Hobbes nip at me and aggravate me. Several times, he talked to me about “what to do with him”. Of course, getting rid of him was NOT an option. So, what did we do? Enroll him in camp! We dropped him off for a 3 week training. It didn’t solve all of his problems, but he came home much improved. From there, he got better and better and better. There isn’t one thing he does now that drives me bonkers. He is quite a loving and oh so cute fella that I just cannot resist hugging and kissing every time he is around. :)
Hobbes and Ray have always been pretty close, but in the last year or so, he started really taking to me too (more than ever). He started laying by me on the couch some (rather than always being by Ray). A few months ago, when Ray and I were hoping we were pregnant, I noticed that Hobbes was INSISTENT on laying next to my mid-section (rather than by my leg, my foot, or my head). Every time I’d move him, he’d come right back! I said, “Ray, wouldn’t it just be something if he knows something we don’t?!” Ray smiled and said, “Maybe he does…” Let me tell you – he did. I later found out that I was very newly pregnant. :)
In the past few weeks, Ray and I have been getting a kick out of how close Hobbes has to be to me at all times. About a week ago, Ray was on the computer. I was walking through our office area (where Ray was) going from room to room. I went from the kitchen, to the dining room, to the living room, to the bathroom, etc. I noticed that Hobbes was right at my feet every step I took. I interrupted Ray from what he was doing and said, “I’m gonna walk through here a few times, pretending to be doing things, and I want you to notice Hobbes”. Just he did before, Hobbes was a few inches behind me everywhere I went. Ray and I both laughed. Then, I gave Hobbes huge praise for being my bodyguard. Ever since we figured him out, both Ray and I are always telling him how good of a boy he is, how we’re so thankful for his hard work, etc. He is appreciative of our praise, but he takes his job very seriously. After laying on the couch for a few hours at night, I need to get up for water or to go to the restroom. No matter how tired Hobbes is, he always gets up to follow me. As a matter of fact, we’ve figured out that a rule he pretty much has for himself is that he cannot sleep (or fully relax even) unless I am. It is so sweet.
Incase you’re wondering what the other "children" think about us expecting a baby...well, honestly, they do not care. As a matter of fact, I don’t think they even know…or if they do, they’re pretending not to. The only other one that might know is Daisy. But Mya, Yoshi, Andre, and Mollie really do not care at all. And that’s fine. Ray and Hobbie Hobbes are the only support I need! They are both doing so wonderfully!
Here are a few pictures of Hobbes, hanging out with his pregnant Mom, making sure she is okay.
