A few stories for ya...

At 10 weeks pregnant, hiding your pregnancy is still pretty easy. It isn’t evident in clothes yet. But from what I’ve heard, once you enter the second trimester, you start growing quickly. But of course, Ray and I can definitely tell I’m pregnant now! We see that bulge that you all will be seeing before too long! Fortunately, I still have some of my clothes from before I lost weight last year. So, I’ve been wearing some of those clothes. But before too long, I will outgrow those too. I’ll have to buy some maternity clothes! The only thing I dread about it is spending money on them! As far as shopping for and maternity clothes, I’m ready! I’m actually very excited about it! Going back to dressing now…well, it hasn’t been easy. Yesterday morning, I discovered that my belt that I’ve been wearing on the 3rd or 4th hole had become too tight…too tight for even the first hole!!! I was just going to suffer through the day on that first hole. But Ray came up with a better solution…

Yes, Ray IS doing what you think he is doing! He is drilling another hole in my belt!!! And thank god he did! Because of his wonderful idea, my 8 hours at work was much more comfortable than it would’ve been on a tighter notch!

Obviously, Ray was aware that I took the above picture and probably figured I’d end up blogging about it. What he doesn’t know about is the next story I’m going to tell. As a matter of fact, he might not even remember it happened! And since he is away playing basketball with some friends this evening, I can freely blog about it. :)

As I’ve mentioned before, I get up and pee – oh, at least THREE times a night. Before, if I woke up during the night because I had to tinkle, I would dread getting up so much that I’d lay there, fall back asleep, end up dreaming about peeing, and then possibly wake up to go for real. Oh baby! It’s a WHOLE different ballgame now! If I have to go, I am jolted out of sleep. I sit straight up, throw the covers off me and onto Ray, spring to my feet and very briskly walk (or run) to the bathroom! Also, before, when I got up in the middle of the night to tinkle, it would be so frustrating to me when I didn’t have much to tinkle. Well, no more, no more! When I get up to go in the middle of the night now, there is ZERO frustration or a wonder in my head why my body woke up for the amount I have to go…it is VERY evident! In the beginning, Yoshi would stand on the other side of our bedroom door and cry when he heard me in the bathroom. He thought it was time to get up…and more importantly, time for breakfast! Again, no more! Yoshi ignores every single one of my trips to the bathroom every single night! Have I shared too much info? :)

Ray pretty much has NO idea when I get up those 3-4 times a night to go to the bathroom. He does not feel the covers being thrown on him, hear the bathroom door open, hear the toilet flushing, or feel me get back in bed! Well, every now and then, he will turn over when I get back in bed…but that is about it.

And there is another “used to” occurrence to speak of…I USED to fall right back asleep after getting up in the middle of the night. NOT NOW! Baby Tse does not like interrupted sleep! It takes me FOREVER to get comfortable when I get back in bed. I know that the little one is still too small for me to feel moving right now (even though they are very active at this point, for those of you who don’t know). However, what stops me from getting comfortable is not the covers or the temperature in our house. It is my tummy! It is getting some weight to it. And for those of you who are already famous for saying it, yes, I know, “Just wait”. My favorite side to sleep on used to be my left. But it isn’t as trustworthy as it used to be…(uh oh, there’s that “used to” again). I have to keep trying my left and right sides until one finally feels right…because the stomach or back does not cut it!

Last night, I had a horrible time getting back to sleep after my last bathroom run. Neither my right nor left side was comfortable. I tossed and turned, rearranged my covers, flipped my pillow (like many people, I like the cool side). Well, ya know how pregnancy is like fertilizer for women’s hair and nails? This is how my nails are already looking (with zero effort on my part)…

Well, when I went to grab my pillow to flip it, I…um, well, I grabbed Ray’s face! Instantly, I knew what I had done (because my poor snug as a bug in a rug husband yelled “OW!!!” and turned over)! I felt terrible! I said, “I’m sorry!” He said nothing. It was not at all funny that I hurt him, but I started giggling and said, “I’m sorry…I was flipping my pillow and ended up scraping your face. I’m sorry I’m laughing. It is NOT funny…it is just so stupid how it happened…Are you okay? I’m sorry!” Already falling back asleep, he managed to say, “Alrighhhh”. And if you aren’t familiar with that kind of language, that was Ray’s was of telling me that it is “alright”, that he forgives me and just wants me to stop talking so he can go back to sleep! :)
