Naval Gazing and stuff

I could post a picture of my naval on our blog, but I won’t. Number one, that is way too personal. And two, it is hard to capture with a camera (I’ve tried)! :)

I haven’t really “popped” yet, but I know my tummy is definitely expanding. I can tell in the way I look, feel, and the way my clothes fit. One thing Ray and I have both noticed is how different the inside of my belly button looks! The creases and crevices have been replaced with plateaus of skin! As my friend Billy says, I am getting an “outie”! :)

On another note, I’ve been reading all about the 4th month. As you know, we started our 4th month last Wednesday! I didn’t read anything specific about Baby Tse because his/her stage of development is better described in terms of weeks (rather than months). But obviously, what changes I’m going through are more easily understood when speaking in months. Everyone is a little different, but it seems that the physical changes most mom-to-be’s go through in the 4th month is what I’m currently experiencing. My emotional changes are on queue too! :) In my book, they mentioned frustration (i.e., with how your clothes are fitting these days). Yeah, that’s me! The book also mentioned a feeling of being “not quite together”. It went on to say, “You’re a scatterbrain, you forget things, drop things, and have trouble concentrating”! Again, this describes me perfectly! :) But of course, I think all that began in the very beginning of my pregnancy! When I was less than two months pregnant, I went to McDonald’s for lunch. I wanted to order my usual – a cheeseburger and small french fries. I was in the drive-thru with a few cars in front of me. For the first time ever, I think, the line was moving pretty quickly. As I was inching up, I tried so hard to remember what they call french fries. I was having no success whatsoever. And I hate holding up the line to look at the menu because I cannot stand when others do it! So, when it was my turn, I pulled up, stopped, and scanned the menu as fast as I could! I could not find that item listed. How that was I don’t know because french fries are McDonald’s most popular item!!! The guy came on and said, “Welcome to McDonald’s. How may I help you?” I said, “Um, yeah, I’m like a cheeseburger and…um….a small order of potato things!” He sat in silence for a second and then said, “French fries, ma’am?” I said, “YEAH!!! THAT'S IT!! FRENCH FRIES! I COULDN'T REMEMBER WHAT THEY'RE CALLED!!!” It was silent for a few seconds again before he said, “Please pull up to the first window”. When I drove up, I saw his funny facial expression. He opened his window and said, “Hi. How are you?” I smiled real big and said, “I’m good. Thanks!” We exchanged monies and he said, “You have a good day now”. I should’ve said, “I will as soon as those aliens stop messing with me!” :)
