It's green - WAIT! - It's blue!

Today, for lunch, I had leftover chicken tenders and french fries that Ray made last night. They were very good! I decided that I wanted Kool-Aid to go with it. I looked in the cabinet and found boring grape, boring orange, and ah…the last packet was something exciting! Kool-Aid Magic Twists, Changin’ Cherry flavor! Incase you’re not familiar with it, this is what it looks like:

The packet says WATCH the green drink mix turn into a blue drink! SURPRISE, it tastes like red juicy cherry! I did exactly that! It was pretty neat – a science experiment in my glass! :) I’ve been sipping on it a while now, and I must admit that drinking a blue drink that tastes like cherry does mess with my head! But not like that crazy colored ketchup! You have to remember that! It wasn’t that long ago! Being the ketchup lover and kid at heart that I am, I bought a bottle of the green ketchup! I was told it tasted exactly the same as regular ketchup. And it was made by the best ketchup making brand, Heinz. What was there to lose? Well, as fun as it was to “ooh” and “ahhh” and giggle at as I squeezed it onto my plate, I couldn’t eat it. It was fun, but not tasty! Honestly, I think it did taste exactly the same as regular ketchup, but I couldn’t get past the green! It made me think of slime, boogers, and everything else gross imaginable! So, after a few months of me trying to convince Ray that I would not waste it, I told him to throw it away. I think he knew it was coming to that because instead of putting the ¼ cup that I normally put on my plate for dipping, I was only squirting about a teaspoon! :)

Even though they mess with your mind, I recommend everyone (especially those with kids) buy the color changing food products! They may not finish it, but who cares?! It would be a fun conversation to have with your kid. If ours was so brave to try green ketchup, I’d give them a hard time. The entire ride home from the grocery store, I’d tell them I bet they can’t eat as much as me! :) If they’re stomach turned and they decided they couldn’t eat any, they would have to declare me the champ with several witnesses! And of course, if my stomach turned and I couldn’t eat it, I would do the same! :) I really look forward to the adventures of having a little one around! It’ll be big fun no matter if Baby Tse is a boy or a girl! :)
