Well, Easter is upon us! It is less than a week away! When I was a kid, the Easter Bunny coming was almost as big of a deal as Santa coming! And just like on Christmas Eve, I had a hard time falling asleep the night before Easter! I loved Santa and loved what all he brought, but I never really had a huge desire to stay up to catch a glimpse of him or even catch him in the act of leaving me gifts! Santa is a big man! He seemed lovable, but he was a bit big/intimidating. I loved him. He loved me. We didn't have to speak face to face. I left him treats. He left me gifts. I liked our arrangement! ;) But maybe because I was a girl, I always wanted to catch a glimpse of the Easter Bunny! I always wanted to catch a glimpse of his color, his height, and touch his fur if at all possible. Santa always left me cool gifts. They were always what I wanted and then some. But I always loved how the Easter Bunny arranged things in a basket for me. When I was a kid, he'd hide little goodies all up in the green grass. As I got older, he carefully place a CD propped up behind my chocolate bunny! I knew Santa went through a lot of trouble to bring me so many things. But the Easter Bunny seemed to do so many little, simple, caring things for me. Anyway, I am excited about Easter! I know that this Saturday night, I will be thinking of all the little kiddies who can't wait to wake up to a basket full of treats and will wake up the next morning begging their parents to feast on it for breakfast! ;)
Isn't this little Easter Bunny cute? I found him/her on the internet today! :)

Another Easter memory I thought of today were the Easter egg hunts we used to have at my grandparents' house. They were a TON of fun! For 10 years, I was the only grandchild on my dad's side! It was all about ME! And you KNOW how much I loved that! ;) We always had a TON of eggs (real ones that my grandmother dyed)...so many that we often hid several so well that we couldn't find them. My Paw-Paw would later find them while up on his tractor mowing or when someone ran upon a huge pile of ants feasting! Oh how I loved Easter Egg Hunts! I loved hiding and seeking eggs! I wasn't picky! My grandmother often made a "golden" egg. It was yellow - not gold - but it was the same concept. I don't remember the person finding it winning anything cool...it was just to say you found the "golden" egg! Well, hell, now that I think about it, I remember that every now and then, the person who found the "golden" egg would win a carob bunny rabbit! Sounds yummy doesn't it?! Carob is that fake chocolate shit incase you don't know. Yuck! Here is a pretty golden egg that made my grandmother's attempt at a golden egg look like a joke! ;)

And finally, I know everyone remembers the Cadbury Bunny! I loved him! He clucked like a chicken! Remember?! Oh, I LOVED that commercial! That was awesome marketing! I've been hooked on those Cadbury Creme Eggs ever since! I had one this afternoon after lunch today as a matter of fact! (No, I'm NOT kidding) This picture will refresh your memory!

Well, I gotta close. It is almost quitting time. I've gotta pack up my stuff so I can get out of here at 5:30.

Tish... if ever there was someone who would want to check out the Easter Bunny and hopefully touch his fur, it WOULD be you! :) Thanks for sharing your happy Easter memories... it made me smile, which is saying something considering my mother-in-law has been here visiting for almost TWO WEEKS. I need a vacation...
Yes, those are a few of the many wonderful memories we had! The first thing we loved to do on Easter morning was to take our first taste of the chocolate bunny by biting off about half his chocolate ears! YUM! :)
