Easter as it was...PART III...the FINAL!

***I was going to post this entry tomorrow, but I want to post it today so my mom can read it. She will be leaving early tomorrow morning for our house! So, Mom, this one's for you....and everyone else, enjoy! :)

It was April 1984. My parents took me to Kmart in Denham Springs to have Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. I remember this day so clearly. Because I was too smart to know that this guy was not the REAL Easter Bunny, my mom told me that he was THE Easter Bunny’s helper. Well, I wasn’t too sure of him (as you can see). Doesn’t he look a little creepy? And you can believe me or not believe this, but I distinctly remember him having bad breath! It was a combination of cigarettes and sewer. Ya know, it is sad when a 5 ½ year old has better toothbrushing habits than a guy who has a public relations job that involves dressing up in a bunny suit and being up in kids’ faces all day!

On the back of this picture, my mom wrote, “Finally got friendly with Easter Bunny”. I have no idea what made me have a change of heart about this guy. Maybe he started whispering threats in my ear, that if I didn’t throw my arms around his neck and smile, he would make sure no goodies were left for me. Or maybe the guy excused himself, went to the bathroom, removed his head, swished with some Listerine, came back to me, apologized, and I decided he wasn’t so bad after all!!!!! I don’t remember what happened exactly. Or hell, maybe I just felt sorry for the guy. I didn’t want to be mean to him. I was a nice girl, as I still am. :) After all, he did have good intentions.

Well, I am glad we got adorable Easter pictures of you but I don't know what we were thinking! That is the saddest looking Easter Bunny I have ever seen! I do not remember the bunny face looking like that! Maybe we were just excited at the prospect of getting an Easter picture of you with the "Easter Bunny". Kmart was convenient I guess. I swear, looking at him now, his face looks deformed! But, it wasn't his fault and he was doing his job and doing the best he could. After all, he was not the real Easter Bunny, just his helper. :) He probably had a hard day. You, however, are precious! What an adorable little girl in her special Easter outfit! My girl!
