Question #1: Has anyone ever gone to the bathroom and had to go again less than 30 seconds later?

Question #2: Have you ever been pregnant?

The number of times I visit the bathroom a day is unreal! At night, I brush my teeth, use the bathroom, etc – you know, the usual bedtime routine. It is not uncommon for me to realize I need to go again before I even get to the bedroom! I’m not kidding! So, many times, I think, “This is ridiculous! Maybe I can fall asleep really fast! I’ll be up again soon for the bathroom anyway”. But I have never allowed myself to be that lazy. I always turn around and go back. And when I go back, I don’t go much. It is a drop or two. What happened is that Baby Tse obviously moved and bumped or jabbed me with his hand or foot. :)

The same thing happens when Ray and I are getting ready to go somewhere. Once I use the bathroom that final time, we must leave the house immediately. If not, I will have to go again. One day recently, Ray said, “Are you ready?” I said, “Let me use the bathroom real quick. Then, I’ll be ready”. When I came out and told him I was ready, he was in front of the TV watching a football game. He said, “I want to watch this play and I’ll be ready. Give me 2 minutes”. I think 2 minutes is reasonable. So, not a big deal. Well, it wasn’t until those two minutes were up. Ray said, “Okay, are you ready?” The answer was yes, I was ready mentally…but I wasn’t ready physically! I had to go to the bathroom AGAIN!

In our Prepared Childbirth Class, the instructor said how wonderful it will be when we go to the bathroom again and actually go – for real! I have never thought about that more than I do now!

More “gotta go” talk! Sometimes when Ray and I are in the living room at night, I will get up to fix myself a hot chocolate or something and will ask Ray if he’d like anything. Sometimes he’ll take me up on it. Used to, I would apologize for taking so long because I had to make a bathroom stop. I don’t do that anymore. Ray just knows that if he can’t find me or if I’m taking longer than expected, I’m in the bathroom. :)

As I said before, I go to the restroom a lot when we are out and about too. One of the places we visit about once a week is Wal-Mart. The one we go to has a restroom in the front of the store. It is very convenient. I usually go there on my way in, at least once while we are shopping, and before we leave. But about 50% of the time, that bathroom is closed for cleaning. And that doesn’t make sense to me because that restroom is never that clean. Anyway, I cannot tell you how ticked off I get when I see that closed sign blocking the door! If I am in a decent mood, I will say a few words under my breath and then head to the restroom in the back by layaway. There has been a time or two where I completely ignored the restroom closed sign though. Those were times that I was not in such a good mood and I knew I probably wouldn’t make it to the back of the store. The janitor ladies are not thrilled to see me crossing their barricade. Before I can say anything, they give me an ugly look and say, “This restroom is closed!” I tell them I’m sorry, but I have to go right now. You would think they would be more understanding since they probably have a kid or 6, but they usually aren’t. I understand they have a job to do, but at that moment, it is all about me and getting MY needs met. :)

And there are some places that have just one restroom. The Whole Foods we go to is a good example. When I was in there recently, I had to go to the bathroom. I saw the restroom was being cleaned but stuck my head in to make a case for myself. A guy had his back turned the other way mopping. I said, “Excuse me. How long will you be?” He saw that I was pregnant and said, “You can come in now. I’ll stop cleaning. Just be careful”. Proof yet again that guys are typically much nicer.

Totally understand how you feel. Experienced the same in the past. If I had never pregnant before, it is hard for me to understand what your situation.
