Looking ahead

Last night, Ray and I had our friends, Scott and Heather, over for supper. And they brought their adorable daughter, Kylie. We had a real good time! Heather couldn’t believe how big my tummy is. Starting when we sat down to eat, Baby Tse started moving and kicking about. When he would make a big, crazy move, I would jump. And I practically massaged my side throughout supper. I’m sure it was pretty funny for onlookers!

Heather finally said, “Tish, you’ll never make it to your due date”. I was especially surprised she said that after I told her that our doctor might consider helping him come a little early if he is too large. I said, “You don’t think so?” She said, “Nope. I give you two weeks”. I said, “Really?” She said, “Well, my guess is January 23rd or 24th”. I said, “Wow! But that’s soon – about 3 ½ weeks before our due date!” With a big smile, she said, “I know! I say around January 23rd or 24th. That’s my guess.” Her husband said, “Yeah, I don’t think you’ll make it to your due date either. The next time we see ya’ll will be in the hospital!!!” Feeling very excited and surprised, I said, “Ya’ll are funny!” Scott said, “I say around February 1st”.

After having a night of “battling my bulge” (this is what I call a rough night of sleep where my big belly doesn’t allow me to get comfortable), I woke up thinking about dates. Certain days have been in my head for a while, but I’ve never taken the time to mark them all on a calendar. So, that is what I did this morning. It was fun seeing what’s ahead the next month and a half.
