While out doing a little shopping before Christmas, I saw a grandma with her grandson. Both looked very happy to be out shopping together. The little boy was very cute. He was dressed in a casual, long sleeve shirt and khakis. He was enjoying the ride in the cart. His grandma was having just as much fun. I heard her telling him what all they were going to be looking for in that store.

That day, I was wearing my maternity shirt that says “Coming in February”. A few minutes later, I ran into them again. The grandma said, “Are you due in February?” I said, “I am. February 17th.” She said, “Congratulations! He’s a February baby!” I said, “Oh really? He’s a handsome guy!” With a big smile, she said, “Thank you!” I said, “I now have a good idea of how big ours will be around Christmastime next year”. She said, “What are you having?” I said, “A little boy”. She said, “Oh, they are just wonderful!” I said, “Yeah, we’re very excited!” She said, “Time just flies. He’s getting to be a big boy already! Of course, he was big when he was born. He came out weighing 9 lbs, 6 oz!”

That little guy looked a little older than 9 months…maybe more like a year. But he was not at all too big. When the lady said his weight at birth, my first thought was “Oh my god”. I was so tempted to ask her if he was born naturally or by c-section, but I didn’t. Of course, I have no way of knowing what Baby Tse will weigh when he is born, but I’m guessing he’ll be at least 8 lbs. If that is the case, our arms will get a workout. It also means that I will less afraid of dropping him (rather than if he was a teeninsey thing). And of course, having a big boy means more fun trying to get him out! :)

It is more easy to take care big guy than tiny little one. I love big size baby. I believe your big guy weights not less than 8 pounds.

That's what I'm thinking too (at least 8 lbs)! Guess we'll find out for sure before too long!
