When Ray and I started buying furniture for the nursery, we agreed that our goal was to have the nursery complete by Christmas. But after some thinking, I upped our goal a little. Christmastime sounded good, but having everything done by our shower sounded better!
On the week of our shower, it looked like our nursery was going to be complete all except for the chair we had on order. The only thing we were told is that it should be in by Christmas. I was happy with that, but of course, I was still very anxious for it to come in. Two days before our shower, I called USA Baby and spoke to a very nice guy. I was hoping for a better idea (an approximate date) of when our chair would arrive. He said, “I see that it is due to arrive by Christmas, but I know we got a shipment in today. Do you mind holding so I can go see if any of them are yours?” I said, “No problem! Thank you!” He returned to the phone a few minutes later and told me that indeed, our chair had come in! I was beside myself! My mom and I picked it up a few hours later!
When Ray got home from work that night, he and Mom unloaded it and placed it in the nursery. After a few attempts, they got the back clicked onto the base. We were so happy about the way it looked! Ray was the first to try it out. Watching him recline back was so funny! I think he was afraid because he was unsure whether or not the back properly connected to the base. Once it was obvious that the chair was put together right, Ray still looked scared. I said, “What’s wrong? Why don’t you lay back?” He said, “I am laid back.” I said, “No, you can recline it more.” He said, “How?” I explained that you have to push your back against the back of the chair, apply pressure to the arms of the chair while pushing out, and kinda push your rear out too. As you know, that is one of those things that is much easier to do than explain. Anyway, I gave good instructions and/or he follows directions well. The chair reclined all the way back. He looked so cute that I had to get the camera! :)
Doesn’t he look a bit unsure and uncomfortable?! :)
When Ray is trying to decide whether or not he likes an outfit for our son, he makes it dance around (jerks the hanger around). It cracks me up! Well, similarly, Ray had to figure out whether or not he liked the chair in his own way! He asked me to hand him one of Baby Tse’s toys so he could hold it. I handed him B.T.’s little Asian Boy Lovey Doll.
First, he held the doll like a baby. But the moment wasn’t complete until he picked up a piece of plastic off the floor that once covered the chair to pretend it was a bottle! ;)

Then, Ray started acting silly by posing with the baby in different ways. I couldn’t resist turning it into a complete photo shoot!
