When Ray and I go to our favorite Chinese restaurant in Dallas, one of the things we just about always order is Soy Sauce Chicken in English/Yao Gai in Chinese. I really enjoy it! Well, a few days ago, Ray told me he would be cooking chicken soon and asked me if I wanted him to bake it or make it Yao Gai style! Ray had not ever fixed it for me, but I had no doubt it would be DE-LICIOUS! So, this morning, we drove to Hong Kong Market to pickup all that was needed. The evening, around 6:30, Ray got to working in his laboratory (our kitchen)! He decided to make me the Soy Sauce Chicken and my favorite, chicken hearts!!! Here were the results:
It was so good that I felt like I was a prisoner eating my very last meal – one of luxury and exquisiteness.
Let me tell you: Ray’s version of Yao Gai Chicken kicks that Chinese restaurant’s butt!!! And as always, the chicken hearts were wonderful! Ray thought so too! Below is his bowl! As you can see, Ray left a few kernels of rice. He was taught that is the polite thing to do. Awww, how nice.

Yeah, my grandmother told that bs about leaving a few kernels of food on your plate or a sip of tea in your glass "to be polite". But as you all know, I didn't listen to a thing my grandmother told me! I listened to my grandfather instead. He taught me by example! He showed me that if you love something you eat or drink, you show your appreciation by doing this:

Beautiful! Very delicious indeed! Makes my mouth water! That will have to go on my meal request list! :)
Soy sauce Gai looks real delicious and Chinese. I always trust Ray makes good food, Chinese, American, may be Italian, Mexico......
To show apperication: I simply tell someone in words.
Japanese show apperication to a bowl of delicious soup: make loud "so" "so" sound while drinking.
