Ode to Canada...

Tish and I were having casual conversation about where would like to live. We both agree that there is no way we would stay in Texas forever because of the heat. One day, we would like live somewhere that actually has real season changes, and a summer that allows you to "chill" outdoors. I asked Tish what her ideal temperature on a typical summer day is. She told me maybe 75-85 degrees...no hotter than that. I immediately thought about Canada. Not so much that I want to move there right-away, but just great memories of a summer I spent in Vancouver, BC when I was 16 or so. I loved the weather, seafood, nature, and etc. When I mentioned that to Tish, Tish got this disgusted look on her face... "Canada?! What the!?" I asked what is wrong with Canada. This is what she has to say... "I would NEVER want to live there... they don't there stuff together." She continues, "they don't have a good system, government system that is." I said, "Well their taxes are a bit higher, but insurance is regulated up there...how great!" Tish replied, "Their government is wuss. They don't get things done..." I said, "Now you cannot judge a country by its military presence." Tish quickly replied, "No, not just that... they are not dirty enough. America is full of dirty politicians. That gives me peace of mind that our country will never get bullied around or taken over the way some countries are. The goverment or some dirty politician always has something brewing - something up their skirt! Because of that, we will never be taken over and controlled by any other country! Any attempt would not be successful because with all the dirty business going on, someone would always have a plan to get us out. Besides, Americans aren't proper and reserved. Our country is full of loud mouths and trouble makers! Any country that would take us over would quickly realize we are more than they bargained for. I just don't think any other country would be stupid enough to really F with America. I feel safe here."

To that, I can only smile. My wife is so adorable.

Okay... so if that is Tish's ideal temp, you really should look into living in the Pacific Northwest! The weather is perfect... lots of great stuff to do outside. And very close to Vancouver which is my all-time favorite city to visit. We'll be living on Camano Island which is only about an hour away from Vancouver.
