After talking about it forever, my dad and grandma finally made it to Dallas to see us. It happened over the Thanksgiving Holidays and we had a blast. They flew in Friday night. We took them to eat some Shanghai food which they really enjoyed. Originally, they were planning to stay at his friends house (because we are crowded here with the dogs and all). But they ended up staying at our house instead. It was more convenient for us (not having to pick them up everyday) and maximized our visit. On day two, we went to breakfast, and then headed out to a christmas tree farm. It wasn't as "farm-ish" as we had hoped but it was cool. Below is a pic of dad and "mah-mah" by the trees.

We picked a gorgeous Douglas Fir that is about 7.5' tall. It is one of the fullest trees I have ever seen. They wrapped it up and loaded it on the roof rack of my RAV4. After almost losing her a few times on the way back, the tree is now alive and well. *See later blog on Christmas decorating.
One of the things I have always wanted to do was to cook for them. So Sunday night after a long day of shopping, I put on an apron and went to town. We had some leftovers from lunch, but I cooked 4 extra dishes. Here are some kandid photos while I was cooking....
Grandma has never seen a can of PAM before, she was intrigued by it.
It was our belated Thanksgiving Dinner. I had the house smelling good! I made steamed pork with "Ja-Choi" ("funky veggies" as Tish called it), Soy Sauce Roasted chicken, Sauteed Broccoli, and fried fish cakes. It was quite a chore to man all the cooking at the same time. I have not cooked "for" people/guests ever since I was in high school, and I failed miserably that time. Amazingly, everything turned out great. Dad and Grandma enjoyed it a whole lot and could not quit raving about it. Here is a pic of the happy campers:
We also did some other cool things like baby shopping, giving our son a Chinese name, etc. while they were here, but I will save that for the next blog.

"Lang Lui" Ma Ma is always as "Lang" as always. It has been so long that I didn't see Richard and Ma Ma. So glad to see them again. What a blessing that you had a wonder time with your loved ones. We will see you soon.
We had the best time with BaBa and Grandma! We are already looking forward to their next visit! :)
