38th Week complete...countdown!

This morning, we got up early. Ray took me to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. It was a wonderful surprise! I love that place! The food was good. The service was good. It was a very nice, relaxed, enjoyable outing. On the way home, we made a few quick stops. Then, we came back home. Our day at home has been pretty quiet. The only little imperfection about today was Ray having to do some work at home. I hate that he has to work on the weekend because he works so hard during the week. I know he feels the same way. But he's doing what he has to do. He wants to get as much done on his current projects as possible before our little one is born. Beginning about a week ago, Ray started leaving work and his desk every day like it is his last for a while - just incase it is. That is a pretty exciting thought! :)

Ray plans to finish his work this evening so we can have a laid back day tomorrow. I'm really glad of that because he needs at least one day to rest and/or do what he wants to do. Also, I have already been thinking about how this very well could be our last Baby Tse free weekend! We are very aware of this and welcome it (if that is how it is meant to be)!

For the record, my pregnancy countdown clock says 13!!!!

In a matter of months, we've gone from telling people our due date is in "February of next year" to "any day now"! I even find myself sitting in our house looking around, trying to imagine how different it will feel, smell, sound, etc with our little guy at home!

This afternoon, I watched our sonograms on DVD - one that was done at 17 weeks and one that was done at 28 weeks! At 17 weeks, Baby Tse was very small. His entire body could easy be fit on the screen. Then on his 28 week sonogram, he, of course, was MUCH bigger! Only about half of his body could be fit on the screen at a time. I can only imagine how big he is now (10 weeks later)! Ray and I were talking about how he looked so developed at 28 weeks. He looked like a full size baby with detailed features that were easily visible. Imagine how he is looking now! The little guy we have only been able to see a few times with the help of medical technology will soon be right before our eyes...and in our arms!!!!!

As always, I got my weekly pregnancy updates via email.

Your baby has really fattened up. He likely weighs between 6 and 7 1/2 pounds now, and he's probably between 19 and 20 inches long.
We will be getting his weight estimate done Monday afternoon!

Your baby is so big that is knees and elbows have to be constantly flexed or even folded. However, he’ll still wiggle and bump you, so you should be aware of his movements.
I’m DEFINITELY aware of his movements!

You’ll probably also be very aware of his hiccups now. They’re the result of your baby inhaling amniotic fluid as he practices his breathing, and they can be vigorous enough for your partner to see your clothes move.
Yes, Baby Tse still gets the hiccups at least once a day. I call him my “hiccupy baby”! :) They are very strong. It was pretty faint the first time I ever felt them. Now, they are pretty hard! I think about him being so confined and having the hiccups…it must be very annoying.

He has a firm grasp, which you'll soon feel when he wraps his little hand around your pinky!
Oh, I can’t wait!

His organs are fully developed and in place, but his lungs and brain — though developed enough for him to function now — will continue to mature right through childhood.
Basically, he’s finished baking. He just wants to stay in the oven where it is warm, I guess.

On a final note:

The end is near!

We'll officially be a Mommy and Daddy soon!

We're SO excited!

I'm excited for you! I guess I need to change my "prediction". Now I will predict that Baby Tse will be born on....February 14! :) Of course, I HOPE he'll be born tomorrow! And somebody had better call me when you are at the hospital...
